What is “Threads”?
Threads by Meta is a text-based social media app that is designed to be a more intimate and personal experience than other platforms like Twitter or Instagram. Posts on Threads are limited to 500 characters.The app also includes features like disappearing messages and polls, which are designed to encourage more meaningful and engaged conversations.
Threads was launched in July 2023, and it has already attracted over 30 million users. The app is currently only available in the United States, but Meta has plans to roll it out to other countries in the future.
Why is it replacing Twitter?
After Elon Musk’s takeover, Twitter has been down significantly. The app has created major issues for consumers, such as ads, monthly subscriptions to get verified, and limited post reads per day. These reasons are contributing to the downfall of Twitter, as they are preventing new users from joining the platform.
what is Meta really up to?
Meta’s Instagram is the most traffic-consuming platform on the internet. In order to log in to the Threads app, you need to have an Instagram account that already exists. It’s the only possible way to log in. In Instagram, they added an extension to the Threads app so that users can easily log in. That’s the reason Threads is gaining a gigantic number of new users in a few days.
the user data collecting of this app is mind-blowing. no wonder why it’s not up yet in Europe. Meta is a company that is living through user data by feeding them to add companies. Sadly, it’s the largest network in the world. WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and now Threads. How powerful this company can be.
And once you create the account, it cannot be deleted unless deleting Instagram account. That is the most evil thing that can be done by an app.
